Another fuel leak in Russia

More than 40 tons of fuel leaked into two lakes and a creek near the village of Tukhard in Krasnoyarsk Krai. The investigation continues.

It is already known that the damaged pipeline belongs to the Nornikiel consortium. This company was responsible for the ecological disaster that took place in Norilsk at the end of May. At that time, 21,000 tons of fuel leaked into the environment. Local authorities report that the fuel flooded the nearby helicopter airport and also got into two water reservoirs and the creek, which is connected to them. An emergency state was introduced in the village.

The environmental guards managed to contain the leak by installing three floating barriers. Without it, the pollution could have been much more serious.
